Featured Story: Level 1 CEP Clinic in TN
The Northeast Tennessee Sports Association, in collaboration with the Tennessee Chapter of US Lacrosse, will host a Level 1 Coaching Education Program Instructional Clinic on February 7th, 2015 in Kingsport, Tennessee at Ross N. Robinson Middle School. In an effort to best serve the needs of everyone in the region, The NTSA is hosting this event to further promote and grow the sport of lacrosse. The instructional clinic is one of five parts of US Lacrosse Level 1 Coaching Education Program (CEP) certification.
The instructional clinic will focus on coaching beginner players, and is appropriate for both new and experienced coaches. The Level 1 curriculum provides the tools to teach rules, basic individual skills and basic team concepts to beginner players of all ages.
You will learn how to:
- Effectively teach everything from fundamental skills to advanced team tactics
- Work with youth in an age-appropriate, safe manner
- Choose drills in order to plan effective practices
- Implement a positive coaching philosophy
Cost to participate is $75, but includes the PCA Double Goal Coaching Certification as well. Lunch will be provided and NTSA will have door prizes, including coaching kits and Warrior sticks for a few lucky participants.
Thank you for your interest in supporting the growth of the great sport of lacrosse in our community! If you have any questions, please contact Mark Bodo, Vice-President of the Northeast Tennessee Sports Association, a member of the Tennessee Chapter.
